Research Data Steward / Scientist (f/m/d) for Characterization and Synthesis
of Thin Film Solar Cells

The Department for Solution-Processing of Hybrid Materials and Devices (
https://helmholtz-berlin.de/forschung/oe/se/hybrid-materials/index_de.html)
is focused on scaling hybrid solar cells to larger areas using solution-based
methods. The laboratory infrastructure of the JointLab at
Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin, as well as the infrastructure of the
HySPRINT Innovation Lab at HZB, are available to the department.
In order to further advance the digitalization of materials science in our
solar cell research, we are looking for a Research Data Steward for our solar
cell research.
* Do you want to fundamentally transform materials science with digital
working methods, instead of improving existing solutions by a few percent?
* Do you want to work in close cooperation with materials science researchers
in their laboratories, observe and analyze their working methods and support us
in the development of digital tools that are compatible with the special and
individual work steps of everyday scientific work?
* Do you have a technical background and want to take on communicative as
well as technical challenges?
* Do you like programming, and are you also interested in chemistry and broad
content exchange?

Your Tasks
* Supporting scientific groups in their digitalization
* Design and development of digital processes for the scientific groups
* Training and support for researchers
* Adaptation and further development of the data models in our data
management software and our solar cell ontology
* Implementation of data exchange for our projects
Your Profile
* Master's degree or PhD in one of the following subjects: computer
science, mathematics, physics or chemistry
* Proactive communication skills, willingness to engage with researchers
* Programming basics in Python
* Ideally experience with hierarchical data modeling
* Ideally experience with ontologies
